Waiting on Wednesday (77): Darker Still: A Novel of Magic Most Foul by Leanna Renee Hieber

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
Publish Date: November 1, 2011

Publisher's Description
The Picture of Dorian Gray meets Pride and Prejudice, with a dash of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

New York City, 1882. Seventeen-year-old Natalie Stewart's latest obsession is a painting of the handsome British Lord Denbury. Something in his striking blue eyes calls to her. As his incredibly life-like gaze seems to follow her, Natalie gets the uneasy feeling that details of the painting keep changing...

Jonathan Denbury's soul is trapped in the gilded painting by dark magic while his possessed body commits unspeakable crimes in the city slums. He must lure Natalie into the painting, for only together can they reverse the curse and free his damaged soul.
Why Jessica want to read this:  It's the Dorian Gray aspect or maybe the Jekyll & Hyde...I'm a sucker for both stories so this story is really peaking my interest!

  5. This sounds incredible. I read all three classics when I was in high school- absolutely loved Pride and Prejudice and Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. I enjoyed Dorian Gray as well (although not as much as the other two). A book that captures the essence of all three? I'm sold! Can't wait for this book!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! I appreciate it =)
